MT DUGOUT CLUB

The Manheim Township Dugout Club, formed in the fall of 1987 under the direction of former head baseball coach David Haughney, is a support group compromised of parents and friends of the Manheim Township High School baseball program. The objectives of the dugout club are:

  • To provide the school district and the players in the program with the necessary extras for upgrading the existing playing facilities.
  • To provide the players, coaches, and managers with additional extras that cannot be fund under the normal operating budget including; practice uniforms, apparel, free attendance at the annual banquet, and training aids.
  • To provide an informational resource for the local media and college baseball programs through the publication of an annual baseball yearbook and the Manheim Township baseball website.

The Manheim Township Dugout Club will have officers in charge of meetings and finances. The Booster Club representative and the coaching staff will serve in an advisory capacity. Chairpersons responsible for heading special projects will be assigned by the President.

MEETINGS

The dugout club meets on the third Wednesday evening of each month in Room 172 at the High School. Meetings commence at 7:00 p.m. The 2017-18 meeting dates are scheduled for:

EVENTS

The dugout club helps run and facilitate multiple events each year to help raise money for the baseball program as well as recognize players, teams, and coaches from around the district. Here are a few annual events that they host:

MTBSA Night

The Manheim Township Baseball & Softball Association invites all baseball and softball athletes out to the ballgame under the lights. Players and teams are recognized before the game and are welcome to stay to cheer on the Varsity team.

Senior Night

Come out and help the Dugout Club recognize this year's graduating seniors on all their accomplishments. Senior recognition takes place pregame typically at the final home game of the season.

Golf Outing Fundraiser

The baseball program has hosted a golf outing fundraiser since 2016 to raise money for the following Spring season. This event serves as the primary fundraiser for the organization each year. Check back for more information.


PROJECTS

The dugout club has sponsored and contributed to many projects that have improved the playing field and equipment that are crucial to the success of the baseball program.

2017 Installation of new scoreboard, windscreen, and batting cage shell for the varsity field. Made possible by donation from Westfield Insurance.
2001 Purchase of Compaq computer and a license for The Automated Baseball Scorebook (TASBS) for the design and updates made to the baseball website.
2000 Purchase reel lawn mower and edger for baseball fields.
1999 Entire removal of old and installation of new infield playing surface including leveling, re-seeding, and installation of electronic irrigation system. Installation of new scoreboard and bullpen mounds for the JV field.
1998 Purchase new tractor for the baseball fields.
1995 Purchase of windscreen outfield fence.
1994 Installation of lights for the varsity baseball field. Field will now be recognized as OLD GUARD FIELD.
1993 Installation of 20’ foul poles on varsity field. Purchase of bleachers for varsity field.
1992 Installation of electronic scoreboard, flagpole, public address system, bullpens and out-of-play fences.
1991 Completion of interior for concessions/press box building.
1990 Construction of combination concessions/press box cinder block building.
1989 Installation of outfield fence on varsity field.
1988 Construction of indoor pitching mounds.
